I’m done spreading myself thin. I’m condensing my client list to work with a select few who I can give my absolute best to. Quality over quantity.

My prices are going up—massively—at the end of January. If you’ve got a quote from me, book in now or it’ll cost you. (Don’t worry, I’m still way cheaper than hiring an agency.)

I’m ditching invoice chasing. Moving from WIX invoicing to Stripe payments, so that I can automate recurring invoices better!

It’s funny how we undersell ourselves as sole traders when clients actually get better attention and personalisation working with us directly.

Tax returns? Check. Work-life balance assessment? In progress. Knowing my worth? Finally getting there.

Well, that was a week…

Started Monday deep in website development for @stephenbarnettjewellery , the kind of work where you look up and realise you’ve forgotten to eat lunch.

Then pivoted to a full candle rebrand and product photography session for @thepackhousefarnham. Side note: I somehow became the unofficial customer service line for desperate people trying to track down the viral Jellycat tea bag. If you know, you know.

Mid-week I was editing content photography for a Breathwork session with @justbe, which was a nice reminder to actually breathe myself.

Then straight into hair and makeup because I was modeling in a fashion show for the wonderful @sw19clothing with my mum, which was equal parts terrifying and hilarious.

Thursday morning, after a very hard school run, headed straight to a networking event at Guildford Townhouse to hear @rachelbenson and @the.feng.shui.wand talk about building businesses. Needed that.
Then immediately dived into making a wonky skeleton costume for PTA duties at the kids’ school spooky event Friday evening, because that’s just what parenthood looks like sometimes.

Finished the week dancing on tables at @bongosbingo for my little sister’s birthday. Zero regrets, but my body had opinions the next day.

Sunday hit and I was absolutely destroyed. So Monday, despite the rain and the to-do list, I pulled the kids out of afterschool club early and we made pumpkins. Messy hands, seeds everywhere, terrible carving skills.

They weren’t happy, but actually it was cheaper than hiring a new employee.

They said Yes!

They hired an agency to do some of my job for 6 months (slight overreaction🤑).

But it meant when I got back I had space to have a think about what I really wanted to do. So I started up my own freelance business helping small companies with things like website SEO, social media management, e-commerce. So much more satisfying.

Go travelling….the world will still be here when you get back.
Start a business it might succeed.

Yes, it’s still unfinished. And yes, it’s paint by numbers. But it’s better than scrolling on my phone while the kids play. 🎨

Pit Stop Discovery: Garthowen Garden Centre! ✨☕️

Stopped for a quick lunch at Garthowen Garden Centre & Treehouse Coffee Shop after visiting my client The Dress Boutique in Four Marks, what a find!

Full of twinkly fairy lights (the kind that stay up all year for charm, not laziness), this place has serious character. Someone on the buying team definitely has a cheeky sense of humour. Loads of gorgeous plants and fun gifty things I hadn’t seen before.

The café was lovely with a welcoming vibe, full of locals. They’ve got this weird retro flag system for ordering - baffling at first but once you crack it, you feel like an absolute pro!

Already planning to go back at the weekend for their all day fry-up breakfast!
